The Core Idea
The observer is not a metaphor. It’s a structural necessity. Every system that processes information has an observer — the component that determines what’s relevant, what to attend to, what to ignore. In AI, we’ve been modeling everything except the observer. We model the data, the patterns, the outputs. But the thing that decides what’s worth modeling? That’s been treated as a fixed window, not a learnable architecture.
