‘I’ as transcendental awareness and consciousness

The concept of the “I” as transcendental awareness and consciousness implies that there is a deeper, more fundamental level of awareness that underlies all of our experiences. This level of awareness is often associated with the idea of the “true self” and is seen as eternal and unchanging, even as our thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations come and go.

From this perspective, the “I” sense and presence beyond the mind in regard to consciousness and awareness might be understood as a deeper level of awareness that transcends the limitations of the ordinary mind. This level of awareness is often described as pure consciousness or pure awareness and is seen as the source of our deepest wisdom, compassion, and creativity.

In order to access this transcendental level of awareness, many spiritual traditions emphasize practices such as meditation, contemplation, or self-inquiry. These practices are designed to quiet the mind and allow us to connect with our deepest sense of self and the underlying consciousness that pervades all of our experiences.

Ultimately, the concept of the “I” as transcendental awareness and consciousness is an attempt to articulate the deepest level of awareness that lies at the heart of our being. It is a reminder that, even as we go through the ups and downs of life, there is a fundamental level of awareness that remains constant and unchanging, a source of insight and clarity that we can access at any time.
